hampton roads food safetyEach year, approximately 76 million cases of food borne illness occur in the United States according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Of those cases, more than 325,000 people are hospitalized and about 5,000 die. Food borne illness is a serious public health threat.

Our goal is to heighten food safety awareness through food safety training, testing, certification and consumer education. Our program is designed to use the most up to date science-based information and research, emerging issues and information in the areas of regulatory compliance, and established "best practices" in public health and consumer education.
